Empowering Female Farmers through Agricultural Inputs to be Self-Reliant

Location: Wadakona payam , Manyo County in Upper Nile State.

CLIP Poverty Organization in partnership with GIZ conducted a training for women farmers in Wadakona payam ,Manyo county.

The training aimed to strengthen women’s agricultural skills and enhance their capacity to engage in sustainable farming practices. Participants received knowledge on:

  • Effective use of improved agricultural inputs and tools.

  • Climate-smart farming techniques to increase yields.

  • Post-harvest handling and storage methods.

  • Financial literacy and group savings for reinvestment in farming activities.

To complement the training, women were also supported with agricultural inputs, enabling them to put their new knowledge into practice and boost food production for their households and communities.

By investing in women’s skills and resources, this initiative promotes self-reliance, food security, and women’s economic empowerment while also contributing to peaceful and resilient communities.
